From the Principal
Dear Parents
What a way to end the term!
The students were just stunning in their “Greatest Show On Earth“ performance as indicated from the responses from very proud grandparents, special friends, parents and friends. The day has evolved into a special event for the school where the motto ‘Families, Living, Loving, Learning’ is reflected quite strongly. As principal, I couldn’t be prouder of the students and the staff.
I would like to say a large thank you to all the staff for the all the work that goes into giving students the opportunity to be involved in such a fabulous learning experience. There is obviously a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes. A special thank you to Lisa Cannizzaro who created the production and led the students and staff, to Sharyn Black for the amazing amount of work to support Lisa and creating a number of the costumes and to Scott Baldock for his support with the IT and technical aspect. We are fortunate to have a staff who are prepared to give of themselves to enable the students to have the experiences they do.
Thank you also to our Bianca Henderson, Mel Sporowicz, Bianca Cotton and Kelly deWitt and their helpers for coordinating the luncheon for the grandparents and the special friends. It was wonderful to have a number of them come up to me and say thank you for a great show, seeing the children’s learning, have a nice lunch and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. Thank you also to the Bahmotra family for their Indian lunch which was well appreciated by us all.
Thank you to all the parents for supporting your child to participate in such a great event. We had every family at one the shows with the exception of a few who were on holiday or were unable to be here. This is an exceptional community event for the school.!!!
As previously stated, this is the last newsletter in this format. The school website has been updated thanks to the expertise of Scott Baldock. Please go to nativity.catholic.edu.au where you will see the updated version in how we communicate our Nativity News. Parents will receive information when it happens.
I can announce now, on behalf of the Director for Catholic Education South Australia, that I have been reappointed to the principal role at Nativity for a further 2 years. I look forward to the challenges that lay ahead. At the end of this time I will stop being a principal of school and look at doing a different role in education. After being a Principal in 3 different communities it will be time to look at doing something different.
I trust you all enjoy the holiday break and see you in term 4.
Kind Regards
Greg Haynes
Principal
