From the APRIM
e This Sunday’s Gospel tells us both how to live and how not to live as a Christian.
Choice 1:
We hear how the scribe was concerned with owning things, being noticed, bragging about his accomplishments. He was only kind when it could be seen by others. “Look at me! Look at me!”
Choice 2:
We hear how the widow who was devoted to God gave all that she could, even though it amounted to very little.
Then Jesus said:
“I tell you that this poor widow has put in more than all the others. Everyone else gave what they didn’t need. But she is very poor and gave everything she had.”
Which choice would you make?
St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal
Each year, our school supports the Aberfoyle Park Conference of St Vincent de Paul’s Christmas Appeal.
The food gathered is distributed to families in need in our own area. Very soon, our Social Justice Team will be asking for food donations to help St Vincent de Paul make Christmas a special time for those who are doing it tough. One extra food item in the shopping trolley over the next few weeks for us, will make a huge difference to others.
Think of the food that you like to eat at Christmas, those in need like to eat those things too!
Please watch out for the Social Justice Team’s information.
Blessings,
