Campus Sports Day 2019
Sports Day has come and gone for another year. It is an annual highlight for me seeing the students competing and having fun. It provides a great chance for the Campus community to come together as one. The day itself was a challenging one for all, with high winds keeping us all on our toes. The students (and of course their teachers, ESOs and helpers) all did a fantastic job to ensure the day was a successful one.
As far as the results go, this year saw one of the closest finishes in recent history with all honors going to the Murray House (winners of both the Spirit Cup and Championship Shield). The year 6/7 individual champions trophies, awarded to the best overall athlete across all events was a tight finish as well. Congratulations to the winners:
Year 6 boy – Wade Bentley
Year 7 boy – Jake Porter
Year 6 girl – Lucinda Hughes
Year 7 girl – Amelia James
Such a big event doesn’t happen without a lot of work behind the scenes. I would like to thank everyone that played a role, no matter how big or small with too many to individually thank. Special mentions need to go to Bianca Henderson for her tireless work collecting and recording all of the data amongst many other contributions to the running of the day; Brett and Mick (Campus grounds) for all the maintenance of long jump pits, line marking and general assistance setting and packing up; and Renee Sawyer for coordinating the Junior Primary aspect of the day.
Once again, congratulations to all of our winners, and to everyone in general for their fantastic sportsmanship!
