Reception King Classroom News
Hello, my name is Tammee Secombe and I am the Reception teacher who will be taking over from Lucinda King for term 4.
It has been a busy, exciting and unique start to term 4 in the Reception King classroom. We have had so much fun sharing funny stories and playing games to get to know each other. We have a new class pet called “Slush.” He has been a real hit in the classroom as he secretly moves around the room observing the class and rewarding positive teamwork.
We are starting to learn how we can use our senses to describe the things we see around us. We have been expanding our vocabulary by describing objects in the classroom, buildings we are familiar with, and the children even had a go at describing me!
The class is filled with mini mathematicians solving worded problems, playing number bingo and practising to count backwards from 20.
For HASS, our History topic provides opportunities for us to reflect on Personal and Family Histories. The children are making a family booklet where their artistic flair is showcased in their illustrations of special and past events and family traditions. They are really enjoying progressively adding new illustrations and sharing past stories with each other.
We are having a wonderful start to the term and look forward to sharing our learning with you.
