What’s Been Happening in 4/5 Secombe Paparella?
Its been a productive and exciting start to our year in 4/5 SP. We have spent a lot of time setting up a positive classroom culture. We began the year by acknowledging the traditional custodians of our land, the Kuarna People, and created artworks to reflect our respect to their culture. We have also been discussing our school theme ‘Be the Difference’ and spent time exploring what our school values look like in action. Our work is currently on display in the front office. Please come in and take a look at some of the wonderful work we have done to set ourselves up as a respectful, inviting and engaged class this year.
On Friday we met our buddies and practised our school value of Belonging. Saying hello to one another and greeting people in a friendly manner is one way we can demonstrate the belonging value. We created a secret handshake to greet our buddy with each time we meet.
We have also been busy creating Lenten Crosses which will go home on Ash Wednesday to mark the beginning of Lent. We are extremely proud of our efforts and think we really let our artist creativity shine through in this activity.
In Science we have been exploring light. We worked in teams to create a model that explained something we know about light. We enjoyed exploring our scientific knowledge and were challenged to use a scientific vocabulary to explain our demonstration.
