From The Aprim
Dear Families,
In the last couple of months, I have used my phone to look at social media far more often than normal, to stay connected. Having said that, ‘normal’ is still not much. I have used 5% of my data with 13 days to go!
Looking at everyone’s photos and the funny memes they have found have made me laugh out loud and giggle to myself. But one of the posts that pops up regularly on Facebook is ‘The Kindness Pandemic’ where people share acts of kindness that they have witnessed, have been shown to them or have done themselves. Many of the acts of kindness are truly touching, especially those where children have thought of a brilliant idea to brighten the lives of others. Instead of seeing this time period as distressing and inconvenient, perhaps we can use it as an opportunity to rediscover what our purpose here on earth, is. Our world has always constantly evolved and now it has changed and will never return to the old model. How can we use our God-given gifts to make the world a better place than how we found it?
I hate cooking but it is not that I can’t. Would it hurt to give up a night after work to make soup for Fred’s Van? I like sewing. How can I use that to help our world? Yes, I am busy but I am able-bodied. What can I do to help others? Kindness doesn’t have to be big projects, it can be small, anonymous, spur-of-the-moment deeds – a smile and a wave, a phone call, inviting someone to join a conversation or a “How are you going?” then stopping to listen to the reply.
”Remember that the person who plants few seeds will have a small crop; the one who plants many seeds will have a large crop. You should each give, then, as you have decided, not with regret or out of a sense of duty; for God loves the one who gives gladly.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
How will School of the Nativity look when the restrictions are fully lifted?
What will it sound like?
How will people feel?
Is there something that we could do even better?
Let us continue to be agents of hope.
Blessings,
