Each morning in RBB they begin by acknowledging the traditional owners of the land and pay respect to the Kaurna people. This is an important part of their day as they make a commitment each day to care for the land, the animals and the people living on it. This term they have been learning more about the Kaurna people and their language. They have learnt a few songs and some common phrases in Kaurna language. The Receptions shared this learning with their Year 4/5 BC buddies on Wednesday to commemorate reconciliation week. The theme this year was ‘In This Together’ – to celebrate this both classes came together and drew pictures and wrote messages about reconciliation on the hard play. They were later joined by the Middle School students as well.
