See what’s been happening in Yr 1
Our theme for Religious Education this term was ‘Be the Difference’. We listened to picture books and Bible stories about people helping others and making a difference to their communities.
Next, we thought about making a difference to our local community. With the COVID-19 restrictions in place, this was a bit tricky! We had been talking about the weather in Science and clothes we needed as the weather was getting colder and colder. Some people did not have lots of warm clothes like we did. How could we help them?
We decided to make some beanies for other children to wear. We have been learning to do Tomboy Stitching, which will be sewn into beanies and put with the Backpacks 4 Kids donations. Learning to do Tomboy Stitching was a little tricky at first. But we have shown a lot of persistence and now have lots and lots of stitching to be sewn into beanies. It has been lots of fun!
