Worm Farmers and Gardening Club
NATIVITY MIDDLE SCHOOL WORM FARMERS
Our worm farmers have been working hard to set up our worm farm. Over the term they have been learning about soil media, appropriate moisture levels, composting, suitable foods, treating the farm, and how to keep out ants (eek!). Today our new Nativity family received a good feed of apples, sourced from our own compost bins. We are looking forward to having more of our Middle School students involved post-Grandparent’s Day, and to our first harvests of fertilizer for the Garden Club to put to good use.
GARDENING CLUB
On Wednesday the gardening group harvested our spinach! A small group of students helped to wash and chop up our spinach, which we then mixed with some grated cheese and broccoli (also from our garden) and turned them into pinwheels with some puff pastry! We shared them with the rest of our friends in the Gardening Club and even had a few left for some extra people. They were DELICIOUS!!
