Year 4/5 Douglas Scrub Camp – 2020
The Year 4/5s recently attended their Douglas Scrub camp on Wednesday 14th – Friday 16th October. They all had a great time, experiencing a lot of great activities such as high ropes, damper making, camouflage games, adventure course, Hardy’s Scrub walk, Bouldering Wall, rope bridges, quiz night and a team orienteering challenge. The boys got to sleep in tents on the first night cooking their tea on trangias. The girls slept in dorms on the first night eating a BBQ meal for tea. Both groups swapped on the second night.
It was great to see our Year 4/5s being physically challenged and overcoming their fears and working together to achieve a positive outcome.
A big thank you goes to Stephanie from Wilderness Escape for coordinating the program for us and ensuring we all had a great time. Thank you also to Dylan and Brett for all their efforts as well.
We couldn’t do a camp without our parent helpers; Emma van Lierop, Dave Williamson and Matt Davis. We are very appreciative of your help and support to make our camp the success it was.
I would also like to thank our Nativity staff for their support and all their efforts on camp. Thank you Tammee Secombe, Sally Paparella and Alicia Symonds.
We hope you enjoy the video of the High Ropes and the picture “Sways” below.
