Reception King has been very busy this Term with lots of new learning!
Each Wednesday, we have been ‘tasting the rainbow’ with the other Reception class. We each bring a piece of fruit/vegetables of a certain colour to share with one another. In week 1, it was red food, in week 2, it was orange food etc. We have been brave and adventurous in trying some foods that we might not have had before. We even surprised ourselves and liked some of them!!!! Paw paw, capsicum, sweet potato and pumpkin were some of the foods many of us had not tried or liked before.
We have been learning about data collection and graphing. We each got a box of smarties and carefully tallied and graphed the different coloured smarties in our box. We answered questions about the colours of smarties we had in our box. We even got to eat the smarties afterwards. Yum!!!
We have also been learning about how things move. We have done some Science experiments to investigate how the shape and size of objects affect the way they move.
We have investigated how different objects roll and recorded our findings.
We made balloon rockets and discovered what happens when the air in the balloon was released. We discovered that the balloons that had more air in them went faster, because there was more air to push them along.
