From the Principal
The End of Year Thanksgiving Liturgy this morning was a wonderful way to give thanks, acknowledge staff leaving and see the leaving Year 6/7 students graduate. It was unfortunate that only the parents of graduating students could attend along with staff due to the Covid restrictions which have affected so many events during the year.
The liturgy has been recorded and will be uploaded to the website this afternoon for all families to view at their leisure. Thank you to Scott Baldock for doing this and thank you to Sharyn Black, Andrea Broadbent and Lisa Cannizzaro for the roles they played in preparing the Liturgy.
Part of the liturgy was acknowledging the Medal Winners.
St Joseph’s Medal is awarded to the student displaying the school’s values of Belonging, Justice, Compassion, Forgiveness, Courage and Gratitude. Congratulations to the following from each class awarded a St Joseph’s Medal:

Retiring Mandy March
Leaving Nativity Greg Haynes, Emily Bowden (teaching at St Marys College), Michaela Sommers, Natalie Bampton, Tammee Secombe (teaching at Concordia), Paul Robinson (ESO position at Sacred Heart College), Ray Kittel.
The full staffing list and roles will be sent home to all families next Tuesday after the transition day where students will spend time with their teachers in 2021.
I would like to publicly thank Graham Brink, the Chair of the School Board, for his speech as I leave Nativity. Nativity will always hold a very special place in my heart. It is personally a sad time in leaving, but I know it is time to look to do something different than being a Catholic School Leader as I have for the last 33 years. I will be taking some Long Service Leave at the beginning of next year to see what opportunities present.
Once again, many thanks to the students, staff and parents of Nativity and the Campus and Parish for the many fond memories I will take away with me forever. Best wishes to you all. I now look forward to the Middle School Assembly on Friday and their celebration dinner next week.
And yes, the countdown is on.
Kind Regards
Greg Haynes
