From the APRIM
Dear Families
I hope you had a restful break! I was delighted to read this compliment for the school via the parish website at the very beginning of the holidays:
“It was such a delight to experience Stations of the Cross performed by your student body- totally unexpected and a real blessing.”
To all those students who participated in the Stations, you may remember me saying to you that we never know how God will use our gifts. You brought joy to many people’s lives on Good Friday.
Catholic Education Week
This begins next week and we will mark the occasion with our first Community Prayer on Tuesday at 3.00pm under the Nativity shelter. All are welcome to attend.
The theme for this week is ‘God’s Creation is Awesome!’. We are encouraging students to take a photo of something in God’s creation that they think is special. This could be a sunrise, sunset, a baby crawling, an ant scurrying along the ground or a family. What do they think is awesome? It could be that they already have taken a great photo that they would like included. All photos can be emailed to me sblack@nativity.catholic.edu.au and will be displayed in the front office. The cut-off date is next Tuesday. A quick turn-around, I know but thank you in advance for your support.
200 Years of Catholic Education in Australia
On Monday, May 24 a National Mass will be celebrated across all states, territories, and dioceses on the Feast of Our Lady Help of Christians to commemorate 200 years of Catholic education in Australia. In South Australia, this celebration will be held at St Francis Xavier Cathedral at 10am on Monday, May 24 with Archbishop Patrick O’Regan presiding. Three students from our school will be chosen to attend, accompanied by Erika and another adult. We are inviting our Year 4 to 7 students to write a letter addressed to Mrs Dixon to give reasons why they would like to go. Letters are to be brought to the front office by Monday 10 May.
Blessings
