From the Board Chair
To Every Staff Member of the School of Nativity
I would like to extend a big thank you on behalf of the Board and the broader parent community for your professional preparation and delivery of learning over the recent lockdown. Your work environment has been radically altered by COVID-19, evidenced by the very short notice into a state wide lockdown that came into effect on Tuesday, the 20th of July.
As classrooms emptied literally overnight, parents were updated on an ever evolving situation, with hard copy and online materials prepared, collated and distributed to the children at very short notice. The logistics of this very exercise was astounding with online learning commencing as scheduled and professionally delivered, where you were able to transform your teaching and learning practices overnight.
Anecdotally I think every lockdown increases parent’s appreciation of educators and how hard it is to teach, as parents engage more with their children’s education.
We often hear the phrase “essential workers”, as educators you are essential, without you, our children and country have no future. It is with that deep appreciation WE as parents say thank you, for not only what you do every day in the classroom, but also your extraordinary work over the lockdown.
Regards
Graham Brink
