From The Principal – Graduation & Thanksgiving End of Year Mass Edition
Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Friends of Nativity School,
Today at the End of Year Mass we farewelled our Middle School Students:
Yr 6: Ashleigh, Bailey, Caden, Cameron, Charlie-Rose, Dane, Dennis, Gemma, Grace, Hudson, Jai, Jayce, Kaden, Kyren, Luke, Miracle, Moriah, Phillip, Ruby, Ryder and Sophie
Yr 7: Cooper, Genesis, Olivia and Sienna
Our hope for these students is that they do all the ambitious things they have in mind as they begin secondary school but importantly remember, as they have learnt at Nativity, to show love and kindness to everyone they encounter.
I congratulate Dane and Jai upon receiving the Rotary Awards presented today by Rotarian, Tony Galpin. Dane and Jai were nominated for this award as their community service is in keeping with the Rotary motto of ‘Service above Self’.
We also had the presentation of the St Joseph Medal. This medal is presented to one student from each class who this year, has tried to be like Jesus in all that they have said and all they did. Congratulations to the following students for receiving the St Joseph Medal award:
RBC – Amity
1/2D – Oli P
1/2K – Matilda
3H – Logan
4BP – Alanah
5M – Alannah
The Saint Mary MacKillop Award is a prestigious school award presented to a senior student/s each year. This year’s recipients of the Saint Mary MacKillop Award have remembered our school values of belonging, compassion, gratitude, forgiveness, courage and justice. They too, have tried to be like Jesus and have remembered Saint Mary MacKillop’s words of ‘Do all you can with the means at your disposal and leave all the rest calmly to God’. The teachers have noticed this, not just this year but throughout their time at Nativity.
I congratulate the Saint Mary MacKillop Awardees for 2021: Sophie Goode and Luke Martin.
We also farewelled staff who have been apart of our community, some for a long time and some for a short time. No matter how long they have been with us we thank them for their commitment to our students, their professionalism and friendship.

Sophie Mc Callum 3 years of service. Sophie will work in her own counselling business in 2022 and work as a temporary relief teacher.

Lauren Copeland 1 year of service. Lauren will be teaching at St John the Baptist in 2022.
Julia Morrison 1 year of service. Julia will be teaching at Stella Maris School in 2022.
For all these people we prayed a blessing:
As you go my friends, you walk upon a bed of love,
On which our prayers are falling softly every day.
As you go, remember that our hearts will hold you close.
You’re treasured, and we will cheer you on your way.
As you go my friends, you travel with Christ at your side.
His light will show a path and be your guide.
As you go, be hopeful that you’re following your dreams.
We celebrate this new season of your life.
Every story has an end. But in life, every ending is just a new beginning.
God Bless,
Erika
