Campus Performing Arts – Term 1
It is shaping up to be an exciting year for Performing Arts on Campus! All of our students are involved in a dynamic program of Performing Arts classes. There is also a range of wonderful Performing Arts experiences that students from all three schools will have the opportunity to be involved in. Additionally, we offer Campus Choir and Instrumental lessons, as outlined below.
We look forward to seeing your children get involved!
Instrumental Music lessons
If your child is interested in learning an instrument on Campus this year, please see our Campus Instrumental Video below:
If you’d like to go ahead with lessons, our Instrumental Program Booklet outlines our program, including costs, online enrolment link for new students, etc. It can be accessed below:
Continuing students will have already been contacted by their teacher. Lessons for new students will start once their instrumental teacher receives their enrolment form – they will contact you at this point to organise a suitable lesson time. Please be aware that this can take some time after you lodge your enrolment form. Occasionally we experience a large number of new enrolments for a particular instrument and do not have an available teacher; should this occur for your child, you will be contacted and alternative arrangements discussed.
Campus Choir
Due to covid concerns, Campus Choir is starting a little differently this year! The first Campus Choir session for each school is a “Come and Try”, so no commitment is needed. We are hoping to meet as a full choir from Week 6 onwards.
Year 4-6 students have the opportunity to be involved in Choir, learning choral skills and rehearsal techniques through exploring this year’s Festival of Music repertoire. They will have the opportunity to participate in the Southern Metropolitan Music Festival at Hopgood Theatre and/or the Adelaide Festival of Music at the Adelaide Festival Theatre. Campus supports the choir financially, providing repertoire books and listening tracks (via the app) at no cost to participants. A commitment to participating for the first 3 terms is required, with optional attendance after the festivals finish (late Term 3/early Term 4) to be a part of our Christmas Choir.
If you are interested in learning a little more about Campus Choir and the Festival of Music, please view the video below.
Rehearsals are Fridays 1.30-2.20pm
Week 3 – Nativity Come’n’Try Choir Session
Week 4 –Thiele Come’n’Try Choir Session
Week 5 –Pilgrim Come’n’Try Choir Session
INSTRUMENT DONATIONS, PLEASE!!!
Do you have any instruments at home that are not getting the love they deserve? We would love to love them for you! We are particularly looking for portable keyboards, guitars, ukuleles, recorders, and percussion instruments. If you have something you think we might be able to use, please get in touch!
