From the Principal
Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Friends of Nativity School
A Community is a group of people who care about each other and feel they belong together.
Thank you all for being a part of the Nativity Community. We have faced some challenging times this term but throughout this we have supported each other.
Thank you to our teachers who have worked tirelessly to provide learning opportunities for our students at school and at home, while at the same time covering classes and yard duties for sick colleagues. I know that many of you have also managed to juggle difficulties in your own families too. Your commitment to our students is inspiring.
Thank you to our students who kept us laughing and who always bring us great joy:
Kenji- “That Mr Putin needs to go to the Principal’s Office!” Thanks for the vote of confidence Kenji but I’ll leave that one for the United Nations.
Mackenzie – “Mrs Dixon is our teacher? That must mean Mrs Hutton is the Principal!” Just confirming that Mrs Hutton was flattered with this offer but is keen to stay in the office for now.
Edward – “I’m too fast for Covid I can outrun it!” Yes, you did! Last Reception standing!
Thank you to our parents who supported their children with learning at home and for acknowledging the work of our staff through kind words, emails and the coffee van that arrived at school this morning with coffee for us all. This gift of thanks means such a lot to us all. Thank you for seeing that we are working for the best possible outcomes for your children in these challenging circumstances.
Luckily, this term we have also had the celebration of opening our new play space and a chance to reflect, that good things still continue to happen despite our challenges. It was lovely to have so many of you take the time to join us for this event.
As a community we are Easter people of great hope, courage, joy and love.
Living God Bless our community with
Protection
Intuition
Companionship
Discernment
Practicality
And the ability to be ready for the next moment
“So great is the strength we possess in our unity.” (Mary MacKillop)
On behalf of the staff, we wish you a wonderful Easter and look forward to you returning safely to us in Term 2.
God Bless,
Erika
