Dads & Kids Sleepout

Last Friday night we held our Kids and Dads Sleepout on the school grounds. Tents were set up on the bottom oval ready for the night ahead. We were blessed with good weather enabling the Happy Valley CFS to do a fire fighting demonstration. It also made good viewing for Dark Sky to conduct a night sky watch whereby the children got some great views of the Moon, Saturn and Jupiter, Dark Sky also took a few photos of nebulae and a star cluster. Walking around the school by torch light is a always a highlight as school is way more fun in the dark!! The next morning the children and Dads enjoyed a bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast and the Dads were pleased to see the Foxx & Henn Coffee Van. Thank you to Daryl Hocking for co-ordinating the event with assistance from Bianca Cotton who did the food shopping and cooking.
