From The Principal
Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Friends of Nativity School,
Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback we have had on our recent Grandparents Day, we are so glad you enjoyed it.
It’s hard to believe term 4 has arrived! No doubt time will fly by quickly with a number of events on the calendar each week including camps, Athletics Carnival, Children’s University Graduation, Year 6 Orientation Days and Graduation along with Carols Night.

This week our year 3/ 4 students also set off to Camp. They will participate in many exciting opportunities including Billy Cart Racing, Bouldering, Orienteering and attempting the Flying Fox. Thanks to the staff and parents attending for supporting our students to try new and different opportunities that build leadership, independence and resilience skills.
I am excited to announce that next year Nativity School students will be involved in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program. The Kitchen Garden Program is a fun, hands-on learning program delivering pleasurable food education. With strong curriculum integration and a focus on student wellbeing, collaboration and leadership, students learn to grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh, seasonal, delicious food – forming positive food habits for life. You will begin to see our groundsman, Derek, install the wicking beds for each class near the front of the PAC in the coming weeks. More information to parents will follow but we are keen for our community members to be involved, so if you would like to help us get started, please email Melinda or I and let us know.
During term 4 we will be preparing class placements for the 2024 school year, a complex and lengthy task involving all our teachers. The wellbeing and learning of each child influences the final decision regarding student class placement. If there is anything you feel needs to be considered in regard to learning or wellbeing for your child/ren please contact your class teacher by Friday 27th October. Thankyou for understanding that class teacher requests cannot be accommodated.
Friday the 27th October is World Teachers Day. This year’s theme is Hats off to Teachers this day is an opportunity to celebrate our staff for their skilled work in educating, inspiring and supporting our students. Please take a minute to let your child’s teacher know how much you appreciate them in person or via Seesaw.
As a busy term approaches and we are conscious of at all that is happening globally, I offer you this thought from Mother Teresa “The fruit of silence is prayer, the fruit of prayer is faith, the fruit of faith is love, the fruit of love is service, the fruit of service is peace.”
God Bless,
Erika
