Farewell
The last couple of weeks have featured a great number of ‘lasts’ for me, last End of Year Mass, last Rosary Group, last Parish Pastoral Council meeting and this last piece of writing as the APRIM of Nativity.
My first encounter with Nativity School was when our daughter Michaela, started in 1993. She loved it and we felt part of the school community. This continued when Karina commenced in 1995. The most outstanding part of the school was the care that staff showed for the students and was the reason that I became part of Nativity staff in 2002. Although education has changed in many ways, the care and concern that staff show for our students has not. To our current staff, thank you for all the things that you do, seen and unseen, to ensure that our students feel that they matter and that they belong.
It has been a privilege to walk alongside so many students in their learning and development, not only at school but also in the parish and the Sacrament Program. They have taught me many things including you can never have enough items on the prayer table “when you are making it beautiful for Jesus.” This is just one of the treasured memories I will take with me.
To every child, parent, and staff member that has helped to create these memories, I truly thank you. May you all have a joyful Christmas as we celebrate the birth of Jesus and I pray that you all return safely, sparkling and refreshed for a new year.
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)
