From The Principal
Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Friends of Nativity School,
Tuesday the Reception to Year 2 students lead us in a Joy Day celebration to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection and the season of Easter and Pentecost. During this special season Churches are adorned with banners and flowers, the paschal candle burns brightly, we sing joyful music, and we hear readings at Mass from the Acts of the Apostles. We are reminded of the gift God gave us through his son Jesus.

Today, Rachel, Melinda and I spent some time in the Kitchen with students from R-2 making garlic bread, zucchini slice and dips. Keep an eye out for our Kitchen Garden video on Facebook in the coming days so you can see what we have been up to in the garden and the kitchen. Here are some thoughts from our year 2 students about cooking:
Eli – I enjoyed cracking the eggs
Lilah- I liked buttering the herb and garlic bread
Saffan – It was fun mixing the zucchini slice
Isla- I got to cut up the herbs for the garlic and herb bread

In week 2 of term 2 we will be holding student Learning Conversations, you will receive an email with information on how to book these meetings soon. Students will also bring home during week 11 a Learning Conversation booklet with reflections on their learning so far and how they are demonstrating the school values of belonging, compassion, justice, courage, forgiveness and gratitude.
Please join us for the Year3/4 Assembly next Friday, we are looking forward to hearing from special guests from both Cabra and Sacred Heart speaking about the learning opportunities at these Catholic secondary schools. Prospectus and enrolment packs will also be available.
Finally, thanks for taking the time to give feedback to us in regard to the end of year mass survey. In addition to the survey, we have received a variety of suggestions about end of year events. This feedback, including the survey results, will now be taken to teaching staff for further discernment and I will write to you at the beginning of term 2 in regard to these events.
God Bless,
Erika
