From The APRIM
Dear families,
I would first like to acknowledge the tremendous effort and time our staff and students put into the Holy Week and Joy Day presentations. Our school is unique in how we present these to the Community, and the presentations were beautiful and moving.
After this post, an invitation to the Region 3 Assembly is attached. This is a showcase of local parishes and schools’ unique activities to inspire others. If you would like further information, please don’t hesitate to email or call. As a school, we are showcasing our Kitchen Garden. This will be shown via a rolling video on the day. I would like to thank Scott Baldock, who put the video together, it is such a fabulous exhibition of what we are doing towards sustainability and health at Nativity.
This week, we celebrate The Annunciation of the Lord, which refers to the time when the angel Gabriel visited the Blessed Virgin Mary to tell her that she would be the mother of the Saviour. Mary was the first to hear and believe that God would do what he promised the world. On this day, we do not only celebrate the announcement to Mary that she had been chosen to be the mother of Jesus, but also her willing acceptance of the news.
This week, I will also meet with the SLT to discuss ideas for helping those less fortunate than ourselves during Term 2. This is an extremely important part of the Catholic Social Teaching of the school. Catholic social teaching applies Gospel values such as love, peace, justice, compassion, reconciliation, service, and community to modern social problems. More information will follow about this next term.
I would like to wish you a safe and family-filled holiday. Term 1, being 11 weeks long, is certainly tiring for our students, who are finding their way with their new class and teachers and learning new things. I hope you find time to relax and recuperate during this time.
Grace and Peace
Rachel Baulderstone
