National Simultaneous Storytime
On 22nd May some of our classes participated in National Simultaneous Storytime and listened to Aura Parker’s picture book ‘Bowerbird Blues’.
Bowerbird Blues is a story about longing and connection and stars a bowerbird on the search for BLUE! It’s a moving story of longing and connection.
Classes discussed their observations and spoke about the many messages that were shared in the book. Students enjoyed the challenge of looking for hidden items throughout the book. Year 5/6H had a challenge to select an item (balloon, small bottle, paintbrush, gem and many more items) to repurpose, record their ideas and then describe how they would upcycle their object whilst also thinking about how repurposing can help the planet.
