Pathways
As a Catholic school, there are a number of pathways both to School of the Nativity and from the school at the end of Year 6 or Year 7.
Pathways to School of the Nativity
Children come to School of the Nativity from the many Preschools and Child Care Centres in the local area, including Aberfoyle Park, Flagstaff Hill, O’Halloran Hill, Happy Valley, Chandlers Hill, Coromandel Valley and Reynella. The Aberfoyle Park Campus Preschool located on Campus works closely with us and the other Campus schools.
Follow the links for a complete list of Childcare Centres and Preschools in our local area.
Pathways from School of the Nativity
Students graduating from School of the Nativity have the option of enrolling at three nearby Catholic Secondary schools.
Sacred Heart College – a co-educational college with the Marist Brothers charism for students from Year 7 to Year 12.
Cabra Dominican College at Cumberland Park – a co-educational college with the Dominican charism for students from Year 7 to 12.
Cardijn College Marian Campus at Noarlunga Downs – a co-educational college for years 7-12 inspired by dual-charisms of Joseph Cardijn and St Marcellin Champagnat.
We have a partnership with Cardijn College which further strengthens the pathway for our students to continue their educational journey within Catholic secondary schools in our region. This partnership grants students from Nativity a guaranteed pathway to Cardijn with sibling discounts continuing to apply when children attend both schools. Contact our Leadership team for more information.
Other pathways from our school
Alternatively, some families may choose to transition to a Department of Education and Child Development (DECD) high school. Our nearest DECD high school is Aberfoyle Park High School.
All DECD high schools in metropolitan Adelaide are zoned. A student’s zoned school is determined according to their permanent and primary place of residence. Check your government high school zone here. There is the further option of Independent Schools.
It is a matter of choice for parents. All the secondary schooling options have Open Days. It is suggested that parents attend the tours to determine the pathway that best suits their child’s needs and family circumstances.
