It has been a busy term in Japanese lessons!
All of the students at Nativity have been busy in their Japanese lessons:
Reception to Year 2 students have been practicing singing Japanese greeting songs. They have learned that bowing is an important Japanese manner to show respect to others. They created Super Mario work featuring bowing.
Year 3 and 4 students have been learning about the similarities and differences in events between Australia and Japan. We made Origami hearts for Valentine’s Day. They also reviewed colour words in Japanese and played the Aka (red) and Shiro (white) flags game, which we all enjoyed.
Year 5 and 6 students have been learning how to turn colour words into adjectives to describe things around us. Most of the students were able to make short sentences to describe animals using their colours. We also talked about Japanese traditional toys, and they tried Kendama (a Japanese traditional cup and ball game), which they loved.
