The Latest News From 5/6HR
Recently in 5/6 Harrison and Ruddock we have had a strong focus on student agency. In our subjects of HASS and Science, students have been unpacking their learning intentions and creating their own success criteria. It has been fantastic to see each student working independently in a mode of their choice. We have seen great engagement and passion for learning and look forward to continuing this work this term.
At the end of Term 1, the Year 5/6’s participated in an Inclusion Awareness Day. We had the opportunity to learn about the diverse needs of others, what bullying is and the support networks available to us. We ended our day by watching the documentary “The Final Quarter.”
Our Year 6 students have recently received their senior student jumpers and are proudly wearing these around campus. They will be participating in a Year 6 Retreat in week 2, where our day will be centered around “Changing hearts to care for our world.”
We are looking forward to a busy Term, which will feature a range of learning experiences both in and outside of school.
Thank you,
Emma Harrison and Leonie Ruddock
