Helping the Homeless

On 5 June, 2024, our Year 6 Leadership Team— Sadie, Saelah, Marley, and Charlie— were chosen to make soup and deliver it to The Sister Janet Mead Soup Kitchen and Homeless Shelter. We brought two buckets of soup along with some warm supplies. At the shelter, we met Joyce, a volunteer, and learned about one volunteer’s journey from homelessness to finding a job and a place to stay, thanks to the shelter’s help. Joyce shared valuable information about their community and inspiring stories, highlighting how they showed courage in difficult situations. We hope to continue making soup for the Moore Street Shelter in the future.
