5/6 Harrison/Ruddock have been busy!
In 5/6 Harrison/Ruddock we have had a busy start to Term 4. In mathematics, we have been learning how to read and create graphs, whilst have collected data of our own. In English, the Year 5’s are in the process of creating a magazine designed for kids and the Year 6’s are creating a magazine based on their time at Nativity. In Art, we started our unit on Banksy. We have recently used our laptops to design our name in a graffiti style font and reproduced this on paper. In Technologies, our Year 5’s have been using the Lego Kits to build and complete challenges. The Year 6’s are working to create short videos and scenes for our Graduation Assembly.
In Religious Education, we have been exploring the word vocation and why this is important. Students have identified 3 personal gifts/talents and shared how these gifts can be used to help others. In Health, we have been participating in weekly Positive Education lessons. We have recently worked on the concept of decision making and examined different points of view and reasons for thinking a certain way. We explored the consequences of decisions and the impact they have on others around us.
In Week 2, we attended a 3 day Camp at Douglas Scrub. We participated in some fantastic activities, which included snorkelling, stand up paddle boarding, sailing modules, rock climbing, high ropes, mountain biking, colonial games, orienteering and shelter building. We are so proud of the growth mindset and encouragement that was demonstrated from the whole Year 5/6 cohort whilst on camp.
