Thursday morning at our End of Year Graduation and Thanksgiving Mass, we acknowledged our graduating Year 6 students, St. Joseph Award recipients, Rotary Award winner, Mary MacKillop Award recipients, and farewelled staff.
To our graduating Year 6 students, congratulations and thank you for your contribution to our community:
Marley, Koby, Edie, Jett, Amelia, Oliver, Brooke, Lachlan, Logan, Saelah, Matilda, Lincoln, Elka, Aiden, Zachary, Isabella, Sadie, Baron, Lily, Ethan, Zimuzo, Anabelle, Jack, Ruby-Lea, Aria, Harrysen, Lucas, Aston, Charlie, Zac and Ryder.
The Saint Mary MacKillop Award is a special award presented to senior students each year. The Saint Mary MacKillop Award recipients have remembered our school values of belonging, compassion, gratitude, forgiveness, courage and justice. They, too, have tried to be like Jesus and have acted on Saint Mary MacKillop’s words: “Do all you can with the means at your disposal and leave all the rest calmly to God”. The recipients have not just displayed these qualities this year but throughout their time at Nativity.
We congratulate Elka and Jack on receiving the Saint Mary MacKillop Award for 2024.
We congratulate Lucas for receiving the Rotary award for his community service this year, keeping with the Rotary motto of “Service above Self”.
Lucas has consistently demonstrated our school values of compassion, forgiveness and gratitude. He has led his peers and the school community in a positive manner, being an excellent role model for behaviour. Lucas is always polite and models appropriate manners both in and out of the classroom.
Lucas is always willing to help others when in need and treats those around him with respect and empathy. His attitude and actions have made others feel welcome and included.
The St Joseph Medal is presented to one student from each class who this year, has tried to be like Jesus in all that they said and all that they did. We remember St Mary of the Cross MacKillop’s words, ‘In all things love.’
