From the Principal

Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Friends of Nativity School,

This week we have had some great weather for our Swimming and Aquatics programs.

The swimming program for students in Reception to Year 4 has a focus on water safety skills in the pool and the Aquatics program for Year 5 and 6 water safety at the beach. Our students have given some great feedback about both programs. Here are some of the students’ thoughts:

Vivi- I enjoyed floating on my back like a star
Sonny- I learnt how to do chicken, star soldier when I need help in the water
Ben- I enjoyed swimming in the deep water using ‘frog legs’
Maddison-I learnt how to yell for help while floating on my back
Archie – I enjoyed snorkelling twice and seeing all the fish on the reef
Flynn- I enjoyed surfing with my mates and snorkelling- we got to see all the marine life under the water and a massive anchor
Kenji- I enjoyed playing flags because we got to run and land on the sand
Connor- Everything was so fun!

We are now preparing for our annual Campus Sports Day on Friday March 7th, with trials for students in years 3-6 today and chant practice lead by our Sports Captains next week. David Rismondo will again be offering Sports Day Meal Deals on 7th March, details of these Meal Deals have already been emailed to you. Thank you for your support of the canteen and the high quality, healthy meals Dave provides the students at Nativity. If you would like to volunteer some time in the Canteen during the week or on Sports Day, please let Dave know. Please join us if you can.

Next Monday is the launch of Children’s University for 2025. Students who are interested will be invited to hear about the program from Emma form the Children’s University Program. If your child is interested in participating in this program in 2025 watch out for the information coming home Monday. You will have two weeks to register using the QR code provided.

The term is certainly flying by already and as I reflect on the first weeks of the school year, I am particularly proud of our students who are demonstrating our school values of compassion, belonging, gratitude, forgiveness, courage, and justice and of the way that I have seen teachers and parents working together to support students to achieve their best both academically and socially. Schools and parents in partnership really are they key to thriving children. Thank you for working with us!

God Bless,
Erika
