Year 5/6 Aquatics 2025

Both Year 5/6 classes attended Aquatics at Port Noarlunga on Monday and Tuesday this week. Our Year 5 students participated in a surf education program that developed their understanding, skills, and values regarding aquatic safety and beach confidence. Our Year 6 students focused on developing their water confidence, water safety in, on, and around the water, survival in the water, and a range of aquatic-specific skills related to kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, surfing, bodyboarding, and snorkelling.

A big thank you to our volunteers Laura Coote, Bianca Cotton, MandyKate Steele and Sienna Kelley. We greatly appreciate your help and participation.

Thank you to Emma Harrison for coordinating the Aquatics and Rachel Baulderstone, Emily Davis and Melissa van der Linden for supervising our aquatics groups.

Our students had a great time learning new skills and experiencing things for the first time.

Below are some thoughts from some of our students about what they experienced.

Surfing was definitely my favourite because I caught a fish with my bare hands. I had just learnt to surf, and I really enjoyed it.
