St Joseph Day Community Prayer and Project Compassion Carnival
St Joseph’s Day
On St Joseph’s Day, our school community came together in a spirit of prayer, generosity, and fun. We began the day with a Community Prayer by our Student Leadership Team, to start a day of service and celebration. As part of our commitment to Project Compassion, families donated a gold coin for fresh produce from our Kitchen Garden.
Project Compassion Carnival
Between recess and lunch, our Year 3-6 students hosted a fantastic carnival to raise further funds for Project Compassion. The carnival was filled with exciting activities and a sausage sizzle, which was a big hit! This event reinforced the importance of giving to others—an essential value in our Josephite tradition.
A huge thank you to our Year 3-6 teachers for guiding students in preparing for the day, to Cate and Lisa for collating sausage orders, and to Bonnie Westover for organising generous donations of bread and sausages from Flagstaff Foodland.
Who Was St Joseph?
St Joseph, the husband of Mary and earthly father of Jesus, is known as a model of faith, humility, and hard work. A carpenter by trade, he is the patron saint of workers and families. His life was one of quiet strength and deep trust in God, making him an enduring example of love and service. As a Josephite school, we strive to follow his example, living out our values of belonging, courage, justice, compassion, forgiveness, and gratitude.
The students all had a wonderful time, and it was a fitting way to honour St Joseph’s legacy.
