Serving with Compassion: The School Community Support the Adelaide Day Centre for the Homeless

On Monday, our Kitchen Garden Leaders and Student Leadership Team (SLT) worked together in an act of service and solidarity. As part of our commitment to Catholic Social Teaching and Leading with a Josephite Heart, students prepared nourishing soup for those in need. With care and teamwork, the SLT cooked the soup and helped package it for delivery.

Alongside the warm meals, a generous collection of winter clothing and blankets donated by our school and parish community was also delivered to the Adelaide Day Centre for the Homeless by our Kitchen Garden Leaders. These simple but meaningful contributions offer warmth, comfort, and dignity to those doing it tough in our city.

We thank all the families who donated soup, vegetables, and warm items and supported this initiative. Your generosity reflects our shared values of compassion, justice, and loving service, core to both our Catholic identity and our Josephite tradition. In the words of Mary MacKillop: “Never see a need without doing something about it.”
