1/2W Reconciliation Week Celebration – Friday 30 May

As part of Reconciliation Week, we were delighted to welcome the Boomerang Mob for a fun and enriching day of cultural learning and activities. Students from all year levels took part in engaging sessions that explored the significance of the boomerang in Aboriginal culture.

Suzanna from Boomerang Mob shared the fascinating history of the boomerang – from its traditional use as a hunting tool to its place today as a powerful symbol of Indigenous identity and culture. Students also had the exciting opportunity to learn how to throw a sports boomerang, making for a hands-on and memorable experience.

It was a fantastic day of learning, reflection, and connection, helping our school community deepen its understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures during this important week.
