From The Principal
Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Friends of Nativity School,
This week we welcome our midterm Reception students: Yuvraj, Aurora, Amelia, Lily, Evelyn, Lexi and Eliza for their transition visit. We look forward to sharing your learning journey with you and having you and your family as part of our community.
Monday delivered some great weather for our year 3-6 students attending the SACPSSA Netball Carnival at the Netball SA stadium. Thanks to our team coaches and umpires for volunteering your time to help make this a great day of fun and sportsmanship for our students.
On Wednesday our Year 3 students will be having their sleepover at AFL Max, combining Fitness, Nutrition, Positive Education and Fun – our students will be learning about finding the balance to become a healthier and happier person. We look forward to hearing about their experience.
I am once again proud of our NAPLAN results in year 3 and 5 as we remain strong in all domains in year 3 and 5. Student writing continues to improve with the implementation of the Writing Revolution Program. We anticipate that individual student results will be available early next term.
Student reports for Semester 1 have gone home this week. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please make a time to meet with your child’s teacher early in term three. Whilst we don’t have formal parent teacher interviews in term three you are welcome to make a time with your child/ren’s class teacher if you wish.
The 2024 School Performance Report has now been added to our website. This report contains information about our school’s student attendance, finance, staff qualifications, NAPLAN results and Live, Learn, Lead survey results. Here is the link:

Many thanks for your generous donations for The Moore St Day Centre and Soup Kitchen this term. The soup our students have made makes its way in the soup van (now in its 39th Year) to Hurtle Square and then Whitmore Square in the city where it is served up with conversation and other warm items donated to keep people warm in this cold weather. We will continue to make soup in Term 3 and look forward to your ongoing support for this important work in continuing Mary MacKillop’s vision today.
