Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Friends of Nativity School
Last night we enjoyed a variety of performances at Campus Has Talent. Congratulations to Summer (Yr 6) for winning the overall competition with a dance to Elvis Presley’s Blue Suede Shoes and to Chloe (Yr 5) for a special mention for her Aero schools’ performance. Nativity was well represented with performances from Charlotte (Yr 6), Callum (Yr 5) and Lily (Yr 4) You are a talented bunch!
It was a busy day at Nativity yesterday as we also had a visit from the CFS truck. Thanks to Matt Lendrum for organising this for our students. They had a fantastic time as you can see from the comments below.
Elle (Yr 1)- We sprayed water from the truck on the oval. I dressed in the overalls.
Patrick (Yr 1)- We pretended the cone was the fire and you had to aim at the cone and knock it down.
Darcy (Yr 2) – I learnt how to turn the hose on and off.
This year in Children’s University there’s been 2, 768 hours of learning done already! Grace (Yr 6) Matilda (Yr 6), Jensen (Yr 4) all have over 500 hours of learning so far. Imogen, Orlando, Harry, Max and Charlotte (Yr 2) also have over 100 hours in their first year of doing the program. Well done everyone for your commitment to learning in Children’s University, this really is a great achievement. We are looking forward to celebrating with you at the Graduation Ceremony on 5 November.
Grandparents Day tickets will be sent home in week 9. Each family will receive 4 tickets for either the 10.00 or 12.30 session of Nativity School of Rock If you don’t wish to use your ticket please return them to the office so that we can re distribute them to others. A note will be coming home Monday in regard to the Morning Tea between the 2 performances and how you can help. The students are rehearsing, the excitement is building, and we are very much looking forward to seeing all the Grandparents for a day of fun, laughter and entertainment.
Whilst 2026 may seem some time away, we will soon begin the process of planning staffing and class structures for 2026. We work hard to balance class sizes and to ensure that the learning and wellbeing needs of our students are met in their class placement. To allow us to plan as effectively as we can, I would ask that you let me know if you do not intend on being here at Nativity next year by the end of this term. Please note our school fee policy in regard to the notification period terms and conditions. Also, if you know of anyone who wishes to enrol with us, please encourage them to contact us as soon as possible. We have a tour on 12 Friday September that they can join. Thank you to all of you who recommend our school to others. Many people who tour our school do so as you have spoken highly of it.
This weekend we celebrate fatherhood in Australia and wish all the fathers a very Happy Father’s Day!. We honour not just dads, but grandfathers, uncles, and all those whom we call “Father,” and anyone else who fulfills a fatherly role for others.
God our Father, we give thanks and praise for fathers, young and old.
We pray for young fathers who are newly embracing their role.
May they find courage and perseverance to balance work, family and faith in joy and sacrifice.
We pray for fathers around the world whose children are lost and suffering.
May they know God of compassion walks with them in their sorrow.
We pray for men who are not fathers but who still mentor and guide us with fatherly advice.
We remember fathers, grandfathers and great grandfathers who are no longer with us, but who continue to live in our memory, having nourished us with their love.
