Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Friends of Nativity School,
It’s a very busy week at Nativity!

Yesterday, we celebrated the First Holy Communion and Confirmation of Levi, Eire, Jasmine, Vivian, Ethan, and Sebastian with the Parish community. Thank you to Rachel Baulderstone and Bianca Cotton for preparing these students for the sacraments, and to Vicar General, Fr Dean Marin, for presiding over the service.

On Wednesday night, our Festival Choir will be performing at the Catholic Schools Music Festival, “Where Dreams Begin.” I look forward to seeing many of you at the Convention Centre for a fantastic night of entertainment – featured soloists, big bands, a cappella vocal groups, and more exhibit an astonishing calibre of musicianship, and you will be in awe of the 370-voice choir! Thanks to Ally Cunningham for her preparation of our students for this event.

This week, we also celebrate our Grandparents, grand-friends, kin, and those who take on the role of a grandparent in our families with our performance of “School of Rock” and a special morning tea.
Grandparents Day at Nativity celebrates and gives thanks for the love and contributions of our grandparents and it also highlights the importance of intergenerational connections and relationships in our lives. Grandparents are a little bit parent, a little bit teacher, and a little bit best friend in the lives of their grandchildren. The role of a grandparent is a very special one in the life of a child.
Our students are excited to welcome you all on Friday, 26th September. A reminder of the schedule for the day:
First Performance 10.00 am
Morning Tea 11.15 am
Second Performance 12.30 pm
School Finish 2.00 pm

There is much that goes into the preparation of a performance, and I’d like to acknowledge and give grateful thanks to Scott Baldock for his tireless work in ensuring our Grandparents Day performance is a success, and to Ally Cunningham, especially for her support with the Finale Song, lighting, and technical support throughout the performance. Thanks also to Marissa Ritorto (Flava Dance Studios) and to the amazing teachers of Nativity School for their patience and work on each class act.
Finally, thanks to all the parents who will provide morning tea; your generosity is greatly appreciated. Also, to all the Grandparents, some of whom have travelled across Australia to be with us, thank you for all you do for your grandchildren and for spending the day with us.
