What’s happening in Japanese

Upper Primary
This term, we have been learning about sports. We explored new sports-related vocabulary and discussed the upcoming Olympic Games. We also reflected on the theme of peace, marking the 80th anniversary of the Hiroshima atomic bombing. Students showed great empathy, and together we learnt valuable lessons from history.

Junior Primary
This term, we have been learning about adjectives. We created craft projects to describe concepts such as big and small. During Science Week, students had the opportunity to explore the virtual Pokémon Fossil Museum, which sparked much excitement. They also enjoyed making their own Origami Pikachu.

Tsutenkaku — A Famous Tower in Osaka
Some of the students were very lucky to try making a papercraft Tsutenkaku, a famous landmark in Osaka, Japan. Nate kindly shared it with us after his family visited Japan and brought this special craft set back for the class.
It was a wonderful experience and so much fun learning about a new place in Japan.
