Celebrating Our 2026 School Theme and Award Recipients
As we prepare to enter a new school year, we are delighted to announce our 2026 Nativity School Theme: “Understanding is the Key to Justice.”
This thoughtful theme was beautifully inspired by Sonny N, with creative artwork ideas contributed by Callum and Matilda. We congratulate these students for gifting our community a message that reflects both our Josephite heart and our commitment to living out justice with compassion, empathy, and understanding. Their creativity has helped shape the spiritual focus for our year ahead, well done!

St Joseph Medal Awards
Each year, the St Joseph Medal is presented to one student from each class who has demonstrated a genuine effort to be like Jesus in all they say and all they do. Guided by St Mary of the Cross MacKillop’s reminder, “In all things love,” these students have shown kindness, humility, and a deep care for others.
Our 2026 St Joseph Medal recipients are:
• Reception King – Emmisen
• Reception Li – Evelyn
• Year 1/2W – Aerin
• Year 1/2D – Lenny
• Year 3/4R – Ethan
• Year 3/4RM – Scarlett
• Year 5/6BD – Cristian
• Year 5/6HB – Amaya
Congratulations to each of you, you have truly embodied our school motto.

St Mary MacKillop Award
The St Mary MacKillop Award recognises students who consistently live out our school values of belonging, compassion, gratitude, forgiveness, courage, and justice. These students exemplify St Mary MacKillop’s wisdom:
“Do all you can with the means at your disposal and leave all the rest calmly to God.”
This year we are proud to acknowledge:
Grace and Poppy
These students have demonstrated these values not only this year, but throughout their entire journey at Nativity. We congratulate them on this well-deserved recognition.

Additional Special Awards
We are also thrilled to celebrate several other outstanding achievements within our community:
• “Service Above Self” Award – Flagstaff Hill Rotary Club: Ruben Jeffrey, for his generous spirit, leadership, and commitment to helping others.
• Sustainability Award – Presented by Erin Thompson MP: Toby Westover, for his dedication to caring for our world and promoting sustainable practices at Nativity.
• Archbishop’s Christmas Card Award: Casey Podger, for her beautiful and creative drawing of the Nativity, which captured the heart of the Christmas season. Congratulations, Casey!

With Gratitude
As we conclude another wonderful year at the School of the Nativity, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Fr Mwaura, Deacon Tee Ping, and Bianca Cotton for their guidance, support, and partnership throughout the year. Their pastoral care continues to enrich the spiritual life of our school.

Wishing You a Blessed Christmas
May this Christmas season be filled with joy, peace, and the loving presence of God in your families.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our school community.

In all things love,
Rachel
