Arch D Podcasting Leaders Day
Four students from Year 4 and 5 had the exciting opportunity to attend the Arch D Podcasting Leaders Day, where they explored creativity, collaboration and communication through podcasting. Representing our school were Georgie, Danny, Mackenzie and Jordan, who embraced the day with enthusiasm and curiosity.
The day began with a range of engaging “get to know you” games, allowing students to connect with peers from other schools. These activities helped to build confidence and encouraged students to step outside their usual friendship and School groups.
Students then moved into a creative warm-up task titled “This isn’t a…”, designed to spark imagination and flexible thinking. Using templates as a stimulus, students were challenged to think beyond the obvious and consider alternative meanings and interpretations. This activity set the foundation for the main task of the day.
Working in mixed groups with students from different schools, our students demonstrated excellent teamwork as they mingled, collaborated and shared ideas. Each group had to choose a sound effect and were tasked with creating a narrative based around the theme “This is not a…”. This encouraged students to think creatively and construct imaginative storylines inspired by sound.
Together, they planned and wrote their podcasts, before recording their final pieces and designing accompanying artwork to reflect their story. This process allowed students to experience the full podcasting journey from ideation to production while strengthening their communication and problem-solving skills.
We are incredibly proud of Georgie, Danny, Mackenzie and Jordan for their active participation and the way they represented our school throughout the day. Their creativity, collaboration and willingness to engage with others made the experience both meaningful and memorable.
