From the Principal

Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Friends of Nativity School,

Welcome back to Term 3!

We extend a very warm welcome to the newest members of our school community as we begin Term 3. This week, we are delighted to welcome our new Reception students, along with students joining us across a range of other year levels. We are also excited to begin our Long Transition to School Program on Friday, providing our 2027 Reception students with the opportunity to become familiar with school routines, build relationships, and develop confidence in their new learning environment. We look forward to supporting all of our new students and families as they become part of our school community and are excited that you have chosen to journey with us.

Next week, the students in 3/4C will lead our Parish Mass, focusing on the Gospel story of the Loaves and Fishes. Through this Gospel, we are reminded of the importance of sharing, generosity, and trusting in God’s abundance. We look forward to our students sharing this special message with our parish community and helping us reflect on how small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Please join us if you can on Thursday at 9.15 am.

OSHC Educators Day is on Wednesday 29 July 2026, with the theme of: Valuing Every OSHC Educator Every Day. This special day recognises the dedication, care and positive impact that OSHC educators have on the lives of children and families. We thank our amazing OSHC staff led by Carmel for creating a safe, welcoming and engaging environment that supports our students before and after school each day. If your child is in OSHC on Wednesday, please share your appreciation with the staff.

Catholic Schools’ Open Week is week 5 of this term. This year, the faces of our school campaign are Clara (R) and Callum (6). Callum is featured in the SA Life Catholic Schools Magazine School Directory. Clara is featured on the back of a bus promoting the overall Catholic Schools Open Week campaign. Both students will feature in Nativity’s Open Week campaign with bus panel artwork on Hub Drive and Blacks Rd as well as other digital advertising. Watch out for them over the next few weeks. We have 3 School Tours running in Week 5. If you know interested families, please encourage them to register for a tour on our website. I know from the tours I host that our community regularly recommends our school to their networks. Thank you; there is no better compliment than a recommendation.

This term promises to be another busy and exciting one, with many opportunities for our community to come together and celebrate. Highlights include our much-loved Father’s Day Breakfast, the Catholic Schools Music Festival, and, of course, the highly anticipated Grandparents Day performance. These special events provide wonderful opportunities to connect, celebrate student achievements, and strengthen the partnerships that make our school community so special. We encourage families to mark these dates in their calendars and look forward to sharing these memorable occasions with you throughout the term.
