Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Friends of Nativity School,

Our new Reception students and Nativity Stars have settled into school life beautifully and continue to manage the routines and expectations of school with confidence and enthusiasm. It has been wonderful to see them building friendships, developing independence, and embracing new learning experiences each day.

Campus Has Talent:
Our recent Campus Has Talent event was a wonderful celebration of the many gifts and talents within our school and Campus community. Students confidently took to the stage to share their abilities, showcasing a wide range of performances including singing, dancing, instrumental music, and creative acts. It was inspiring to see our students step outside their comfort zones, support one another and shine in front of their peers. A sincere thank you to all participants and our Music Teacher, Ally Cunningham, who helped make the event such a success. Congratulations to Orlando who took the second prize for his performance of Mr Pinstripe Suit.

Catholic Education Week 17-21 August
I am proud to share that our student Podcasting Program has been featured in the South Australian Catholic Schools Magazine for Catholic Education Week. Growing Communities for the Future. The article highlights how students from Years 3-6 are developing confidence, communication skills and creativity through podcasting. Congratulations to our students and staff on this wonderful recognition.
During Catholic Education Week you might like to take an opportunity to tour one of our Catholic secondary schools.
Families of students currently in Year 4 are reminded that Catholic secondary schools are now finalising enrolments for Year 7 in 2029. If you are considering enrolment at Cabra Dominican College, applications are due by 11 September 2026, while Sacred Heart College applications close on 18 September 2026. For Cardijn College, applications for Year 7 2029 are due by the end of Term 1, 2027. We encourage families to ensure applications are submitted by the relevant closing dates to avoid missing out on enrolment opportunities.

Building Project:
As part of the ongoing development of the St Joseph and Bartram buildings, the new toilet facilities project is progressing and will shortly enter the tender process. This important upgrade will enhance amenities for students and staff, supporting the school’s commitment to providing a safe, comfortable, and well-resourced learning environment. Subject to the tender process, construction is expected to commence in late Term 3 or early Term 4.

Strategic Plan:
As part of our Strategic Planning process, we will invite all members of our school community to participate in a confidential community survey, which will be available during Week 7 (31st August). The survey provides an important opportunity for parents, caregivers, staff and students to share their perspectives and help shape the future direction of our school.
Participants will also have the opportunity to register their interest in taking part in a confidential focus group. Focus groups for parents, staff and students will be facilitated during Week 7, providing another avenue for community members to contribute their ideas and feedback.
We encourage all families to take a few moments to complete the survey when the link is released in Week 7 and play an active role in the focus groups, helping shape the future of our school. Your voice is valued, and we thank you in advance for your participation. Watch out for the survey in your inbox.

Father’s Day Breakfast:
Lastly, please join us for our Father’s Day Breakfast! We warmly invite all fathers, grandfathers and special father figures to join us for a morning of connection and celebration on Friday 4 September. Further information will be sent to families soon.
