Reception Students Off to a Wonderful Start in Term 4!

Our Reception students have had a fantastic start to Term 4 and have returned to school ready and eager to learn. In Mathematics, we have been exploring operations and developing our understanding of addition and subtraction through hands-on activities using pictures, counters, ten frames and other engaging materials. The children have loved solving problems and sharing their mathematical thinking.

In Religion, we have been learning about Jesus and how He was part of a loving family with Mary and Joseph. Through stories, discussions and creative activities, students have been making connections to their own families and the people who care for them.

We have also begun our exciting author study on Julia Donaldson. This week, we have been exploring The Gruffalo, with a focus on story structure and different sentence types. The children have thoroughly enjoyed immersing themselves in this much-loved story and participating in a range of literacy activities inspired by the book.

We are excited for the term ahead and look forward to sharing many more learning adventures with our Reception students!
