Year 5/6 Douglas Scrub Camp
๐๏ธ YEAR 5/6 DOUGLAS SCRUB CAMP 2026
What an incredible three days our Year 5/6 students had at Douglas Scrub Camp! From Wednesday 21 to Friday 23 October, our students challenged themselves, tried new things and made memories that will last a lifetime.
The adventure was non-stop! ๐ Out on the water, students had a go at Stand-Up Paddleboarding, Boogie Boarding and Snorkelling, and put their design skills to the test with Sailboat Making. ๐ง On land, they faced their fears on the High Ropes Course and Rock Wall Climbing, explored the trails on Mountain Bikes and worked together to find their way in Orienteering. โบ Of course, Sleeping in Tents was a highlight for many!
Our evenings were full of fun and laughter, with a competitive Quiz Night ๐ง , an entertaining Talent Show ๐ค and a relaxing Movie Night ๐ฌ to finish off.
We are so proud of the way our students showed courage, resilience, teamwork and kindness throughout the camp. They encouraged one another, stepped outside their comfort zones and represented our school beautifully.
๐ A huge thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers, Bianca Cotton, Samantha Yates, David Moore and David Rismondo, who generously gave their time and energy to support our students over the three days. We couldn’t have done it without you!
๐๐ Thank you also to our amazing staff, Emma Harrison, Becci Broad, Melissa Van Der Linden, Rachel Baulderstone and Scott Baldock, for their care, enthusiasm and dedication both before and during camp.
Finally, a big thank you to the staff of Wilderness Escape for coordinating such a well-organised and memorable camp experience for our students.
Congratulations, Year 5/6, on an unforgettable camp! ๐ Please like and share to celebrate with family and friends!
