May: Honouring Mary, Our Courageous Mother
The month of May is traditionally known in the Catholic Church as the Month of Mary, a special time to honour Mary, the mother of Jesus, and reflect on her deep faith, strength, and love. At School of the Nativity, we embrace this tradition as part of our commitment to nurturing our Catholic identity and helping our students grow in faith.
Throughout May, our students have been invited to pray with Mary, learn about her life, and reflect on her extraordinary courage. In particular, our Year 5/6 classes have been exploring who Mary is, not just as the mother of Jesus, but as a woman of deep faith, resilience, and trust in God.
As we continue through this special month, may we all find time to sit with Mary in prayer, to ask for her intercession, and to draw strength from her example.
“Let it be done to me according to your word.” – Luke 1:38

Peaceful Kids at Nativity
This term, some of our students have been participating in the Peaceful Kids program, a wellbeing initiative that helps children develop skills in mindfulness, meditation, and emotional resilience. It’s been wonderful to see how much the students have enjoyed the quiet, reflective time and the strategies they are learning to help manage big emotions.
For families interested in practising meditation at home, Peaceful Kids offers a range of guided meditations suitable for children. These are a great way to unwind together at the end of the day. You can find these resources on the Peaceful Kids website: Peaceful Kids Meditations
